About Stephen Hill Architects
A design led architectural practice based in Sheffield. We offer a wealth of experience gained from designing many different types of projects from individual houses to university campus masterplans.
The practice’s approach is to place the user at the heart of the design process. We work closely with our clients to fully understand their needs and aspirations and to find the best solution to deliver these within their budget. We are used to handling large complex design problems and have the proven skills in delivering award winning projects. We apply the same analytical thinking and fresh approach whatever the scale of the project.
Our designs are sustainable and work in harmony with their surroundings and the climate. Our focus is always on user’s experience of the building; how its internal spaces work and feel, the relationship between interior and the external environment through daylight and views.
We design and deliver high quality buildings that are pleasure to live, work or study within.
We are able to provide full architectural services from project inception through to completion of the project on site. We are well versed in different forms procurement and able to tailor our services to suit the particular circumstances.
The practice is particularly skilled in complex feasibility studies. We are used to working closely with multi-stakeholder clients, such as universities, to help them develop the project brief. From the earliest stages of design we use computer generated models to help clients visualise how a project can be realised on a potential site and its relationship to its wider context. This is invaluable in testing a site’s capacity and negotiating with planning authorities.
We have specialist expertise in education design. Our experience encompasses award winning university buildings, secondary and primary schools and campus masterplans.
